Polish Iga Swiatek defeated Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka 2-0 to become the champion of Stuttgart Open Women’s Tennis Tournament. In the singles final of the clay court tournament held in Stuttgart, Germany, world number 1 21-year-old Swiatek and number 2 seeded Sabalenka faced off.
Swiatek won the championship for the second time in a row by defeating Sabalenka, who played in the third consecutive final of the tournament, 2-0 (6-3, 6-4) after 1 hour and 50 minutes.
The Polish tennis player won his second singles title this season and his 13th singles title in his career.
