The supply situation has eased further for the processing industry in Germany. This is the result of a current industry survey by the Ifo Institute, the results of which were published on Tuesday.
According to this, only 35.3 percent of all companies surveyed complained about material shortages in May. In the previous month it had been 39.2 percent. The situation also improved for the local textile manufacturers. In April, 13.9 percent of the relevant companies reported problems with the supply of materials and preliminary products, in May it was only 11.2 percent.
Klaus Wohlrabe, head of the Ifo surveys department, emphasized the importance of the development for companies: “The decline is a small support for the current difficult economic situation in German industry,” he explained in a statement. “Existing orders can be processed faster and thus support production.”
