“If you patch that up with me again, it won’t work out”: Joren has to sleep outside after Lien closes the door in ‘Blind Married’ | BLIND MARRIED

He didn’t believe his own eyes. When Joren and Lien came back from a day on a boat with the other couples, he suddenly couldn’t enter his hotel room anymore. There were no cameras at that moment, but Joren explains it in front of the lens the next morning. “Lien had the map of the door and I thought she was going to let me in through the sliding door.” Not so. “I was pulling at the door, but it wouldn’t open. In the end I slept on a bed next to the pool with two towels as a duvet.”

A short night for Joren, but she has nothing to do with that, Lien claims. She insists that the sliding window was indeed open and that she shouted it to her husband. “Lie number 1 is a fact”, Joren calls it somewhat laconically the next day. “Come on, you’re thinking: ‘going out together at home’, right? You’re going to have a look: where is my husband?” he wonders aloud.

Lien keeps the incident on ‘miscommunication’, but for Joren the event clearly has an impact. “I gave it my typical comic swung, but I was like, ‘If you patch that one more time, it won’t work out.’ The wine seller from Lennik can still laugh about it, but mainly as a farmer with a toothache. And Lien also tries to minimize the problem the next morning. “Sorry. Love You too hey, hubby”, she gives her husband a pat on the back.

Strange incident though. You don’t forget your own husband just like that… But Joren and Lien don’t give up yet. After the incident, the two sat down for a chat. Joren opened himself up to it. “It’s starting to weigh down,” he told his wife. He then talks about the experiment, but also about the lack of click. He therefore asked Lien for more confirmation. “And I have to give it to him,” she concluded.

There are undoubtedly good intentions, but this episode became painfully clear that Lien is not warm to her husband. Verbally it sounds different, but the confirmation of that suspicion is in small things. A pitying pat on the back the morning after the sliding window incident. Distant taps on his knee when Joren puts his heart on the table. There is no question of attraction on Lien’s side. “Don’t worry, everybody loves you”, Lien reassured her husband when he started to talk about his doubts. “Now you”, Joren replied. An all-encompassing conclusion.

They didn’t seem to be able to keep each other apart in recent episodes, but it turns out not to be between Jana and Christiaan. On the boat, Jana told her true feelings to Florence. “I understand why Christiaan and I are matched, but in appearance he is not the man I would choose. And looks are important,” she said. When the Lokerse kindergarten teacher started a conversation – outside the cameras – with her husband, she was shocked by his reaction. “He was short and brutal,” she recalls. “What are we doing here then? Then it will never work’”, he reacted fiercely. So I was afraid of that.”

Trouble in paradise. But the two did mention that intense moment the next morning with open eyes. Christiaan – who spends hours every week in the gym – was mortified in his honor, but concluded that a 100% matching appearance is simply not possible. “Even with 70% I used to be content at school,” it sounded. Their working point has been expressed and they can get to work with it. The touches and hugs have not stopped. We still believe in it.

Last episode, Florence mainly hoped for a good outcome of the marriage with her police officer Jiri. This time it turned out that she was also actively working on it, because something has clearly happened between the Jiri and Florence. On the deck of the pleasure boat, the two were spotted sunbathing on a lounger. Her hand on his arm. Subtle, but a very first form of affection between the two. They had talked, Florence told Jana. She told Jiri she felt no attraction, but also “that doesn’t mean it’s a no-go between us. I really believe it can grow.” A glimmer of hope for Jiri, whose patient approach is beginning to bear fruit. So an upward curve, although the road still seems long.

In the meantime the sun continues to shine in ‘Brecht and Dziubi’ country. Lately, the gentlemen have turned out to be more and more like the cornflour between the couples. Last week by organizing a work-out, on the boat by asking the couples specific questions about their relationship. “Rest is not in me, but through Dziubi I can find it,” says Brecht. Flirtatious jokes, mischievous touches keep piling up. There is, however, one point of improvement. “Brecht doesn’t like Lady Gaga,” said a stunned Dziubi. So perfection does not exist.
