The Barca coach stressed that the Celje track is “a difficult track” and that the public “is going to put a lot of pressure on it”
Fàbregas wants to “enjoy every game and every training session” in his last season at Barça
The Barça coach Carlos Ortega stressed that winning to Celje this Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. at the Zlatorog Arena is “very important” with a view to achieving the goal of finishing first in the regular phase of the Champions League.
“It’s a very important game for us and we have to win if we want to finish first in the group. We are going to a very difficult track and with a large public that is going to put pressure on”, acknowledged the Andalusian.
In this sense, Ortega stressed that the victory of the Balkans on the last day in Nantes gives them options to qualify. “They still have chances to be in the round of 16 and they go through beating us. We have a lot of respect for them. We suffered a lot in the first round match and we could only get past them in the last 15 minutes. Physically the team is fine and I can give minutes to all the players to gradually dose the troops”, reflected the former Dream Team player.
Ortega also referred to the renewal of Domen Makuc until 2026. “He is young and very talented, but he must be more careful with the balls in the ‘hot’ moments of the matches. Perhaps he does not give the importance of each ball at all times, but he is a player with great talent and he can double you several positions in attack, “he commented alternating carrot and ‘stick’.
Fàbregas, very focused
For his part, Ludovic Fàbregas faces his last months as a Barça player, since next season he will pack his bags to play for the Hungarian Veszprém. The French international stressed that his desire is “to finish my stage here in the best possible way. Winning the Champions League is not only an objective for Barça, but also on a personal level, but I do not make distinctions with the other matches, whether they are League, of Glass and League of Champions”, affirmed with his habitual ambition.
Considered one of the best pivots on the planet if not even the best, ‘Ludo’ reiterated his total commitment to the club, to the fans and to the team. “I will go to the end with the greatest enthusiasm in the world to achieve all the titles. It is not strange to me that it is my last season here, because I am living the moment that is due and I want to enjoy all the games and all the training sessions to continue growing. I think the team is doing very well”, concluded the world runner-up with the ‘bleu’ team.
