If we think about the future, we must help SMEs to go out into the world

Much is said about the need to promote exports of Argentine products, but little has been done in recent times to really empower SMEs, particularly those that are part of the different export complexes of the multiple regional economies of our country.

As part of a vicious circle, the obstacles to imports that have been implemented in recent months to try to manage the scarce reserves have impacted not only local production but also the exportable supply.

The drought, the lack of a competitive exchange rate and now the difficulties that arise in terms of international logistics, make Argentine products lose competitiveness and give up positions that had been achieved with great effort. The specialist cites as an example that one of the major problems that the agro-export sector is facing is the difficulty in obtaining inputs for the next crops.

“Thinking about the future will be vital survey at the regional level, the different economic activities in terms of the transformation processes that are being carried out, what is the available capacity, the possibilities of expansion and the necessary conditions to promote investment.” Explain Lic. Lojo and deepen. “In other words: what obstacles and inconveniences today prevent growth and internationalization so that through public policies the private sector can grow and reach its potential”

“Exporters probably in their top 3 can mention us as actions aimed at improving the possibilities of Argentine products: the removal of withholdings, access to inputs and financing; but there is much more to be done” Holds Lic. Lojo. “Improving the conditions of access to the exit points, putting tax warehouses into operation in different parts of the country to expedite customs procedures, and facilitating bureaucratic processes are some of the elements that can increase competitiveness in addition to the aforementioned”

“We have natural resources that allow us to obtain quality products, which gives us a differential, but above all, we have the resilience of the Argentine people. Foreign trade can be the basis for building a more solid economy” concludes Lic. Lojo.
