Idles let Coldplay sing their track in a deepfake clip – see here

Chris Martin even personally approved the AI campaign.

Idles have released a Coldplay deepfake as a music video. For the clip for their song “Grace” they used material from their compatriots’ “Yellow” video.

Deepfake Chris Martin sings “Grace”

In the Original video Coldplay frontman Chris Martin runs along the beach singing. Using artificial intelligence, Idles got the singer to belt out the lines of her song “Grace” instead of her own hit. Idles singer Joe Talbot stated that he dreamed the concept. Chris Martin approved the idea. What’s more, he helped train the AI so that his singing, or rather the movements of his lips, appeared more realistic. Since both songs are calm, the atmosphere of “Yellow” (2000) also fits the reconstruction as a deepfake.
