Ida Mae live in Germany 2023

Classic blues rock that really sounds like the dusty deserts of the USA, only Americans can do that? Not even close! Because the duo Ida Mae has always been reviving the genre from Great Britain. The two have already clearly demonstrated this with their albums “Chasing Lights” and “Click Click Domino”. In the style of their role models The Kills, Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean Ward let the guitars ring out in harsh tones, while the vocals range somewhere between Robert Plant and Steve Marriot.

In November of this year, Ida Mae also want to inspire the Germans with their unique blues rock live and will play three concerts in Germany for the first time since 2019. First on November 7th in Munich, two days later in Berlin and then on November 13th in Cologne.

Karsten Jahnke Konzertdirektion once said about the band: “Ida Mae’s magic lies in the sensitive and sensual interlocking of two voices that are difficult to grasp and in the intimacy of her songs. Their chemistry on stage isn’t a dramaturgical pose, it’s a beguiling sight to watch. Chris’ vocals are reminiscent of Steve Marriott or the Rod Stewart of the Faces era, Stephanie combines the subtle characteristics of a Patty Griffin with the effortless rock aplomb of Alison Mosshart. When they sing together, there’s often a “who’s who” dynamic. Really rare and valuable, such voices – and even more so a combination of these.”
