‘I’d rather hear Frank Dane’

Luuk Ikink would rather hear Frank Dane on Radio 538 in the morning than his successor Wietze de Jager. “It is a pity that 538 did not give him the time,” he says about his RTL Boulevard colleague.

Wietze de Jager can be heard for a few months now on the morning of Radio 538, in the place where Frank Dane could be heard until the turn of the year. It all went quite abruptly and RTL Boulevard star and radio enthusiast Luuk Ikink thinks that is a shame.

Prefer Frank

When Luuk is asked by Playboy magazine to choose between Frank and Wietze, he replies: “Then I’ll go for Frank. Frank is just a little more experienced and I am always very charmed by him.”

Didn’t he find Frank’s radio show boring? “There could have been a little more spice in his morning show, a little more the old Frank from 3FM, but it is a pity that 538 did not give him the time to further develop the program.”

landslide

Luuk points out that Frank hasn’t done so badly after all. “Everyone in radioland expected a landslide when Edwin Evers stopped, but that didn’t happen. Of course the listening numbers have dropped slightly, but it wasn’t the massive drop they expected.”

It seems that Luuk even thinks it is a bit unwise that Radio 538 has pushed Frank aside. “Frank just did a really good job.”

Joost Eerdmans

It is a bit painful that the departure of Frank Dane has gone quite silently. You also hardly hear anyone say that they miss him so much on Radio 538. Even though politician Joost Eerdmans tweeted the following this morning:
