The new identification requirement in Berlin’s swimming pools applies with immediate effect! From Saturday you can only go to Berlin’s summer and outdoor pools with your ID, driver’s license or student ID. The document must be presented at the entrance.

In a crisis meeting, the Berlin bathing establishments have agreed on a series of measures with the governing Kai Wegner (50, CDU) and Senator for the Interior Iris Spranger (61, SPD) so that visitors are happy to come and the staff is relieved.

More security personnel: All pools get more security forces – depending on location and weather conditions. The respective pool manager decides.

Earlier admission stops: Late arrivals are at a disadvantage. As more visitors are allowed in, there will also be more admission stops. The shift manager decides.

Mobile Police Stations: The operation of the summer pools is supported by the use of mobile guards, for example in front of the summer pool in Kreuzberg.

Slides and diving towers: They can be used again. The shift management of the respective pool decides.

Columbiadamm Summer Pool: The summer pool in Neukölln will reopen on Monday.
