Iconic posts in Knokke-Heist may stay (for a while).

The posts often only protrude just above the sand and thus pose a risk of falls. A contractor was supposed to remove them this week, but that caused commotion.

Mayor Piet De Groote has now decided at the last minute to leave them. The beach is currently being raised in Knokke-Heist, so that the posts will soon disappear under an extra layer of sand anyway. But the poles get some delay at the last minute.
