Icelander Freyr Alexandersson on his way to KV…

It is the first time in club history that KV Kortrijk has paid a lump sum to another club for a new trainer. This is possible through the intervention of the current owner, Vincent Tan.

Which does not mean that Alexandersson has been put forward by Tan. The Icelander is indeed the choice of the club board. As a people manager and in his sporting vision, he best fits what KV Kortrijk is looking for. Alexandersson also brings along an assistant, Hartmann. The rest of the current staff, including Joseph Akpala and Kristof D’haene, will remain on board.

There is no signed agreement yet, but that is a matter of time. KV Kortrijk will leave for a winter training camp in Albir, Spain on January 6. The intention is for Alexandersson to be on the plane to the Spanish sun. KVK is preparing for the remaining ten matchdays in the competition. It is last in the Jupiler Pro League with 10 points, eleven points from a safe place.
