The music video for the meme-inspired song goes live a few hours after its release.
After teasing her new track online a few weeks earlier, Ice Spice is releasing her single “Think U The Shit (Fart)” this Friday, January 26th. A few hours after the release, at 9 p.m., the accompanying music video will also go online.
First came the meme, then her song
If you’ve been on TikTok lately, you’ve most likely heard at least part of her single. The lines “Think you the shit, bitch?/ You’re not even the fart”, accompanied by synthesizers and kick drums, crept onto users’ “For You Pages” within a few days and quickly became one viral sound for trends.
Before Ice Spice turned the Lines into a song, a very similar phrase became popular through a meme on social media. In 2020 a user posted the saying “BITCHES BE THINKING THEY THE SHIT BUT THEY AINT EVEN THE FART!!” along with a picture of Nintendo’s Mario smoking a joint. The rapper also announced her track with exactly this meme along with the short snippet, which then circulated on TikTok.
