The USA reached the World Cup semifinals against Germany on Thursday (May 25th, 2023) with their eighth tournament victory.
The two-time world champion defeated the twelve-time title holder Czech Republic 3-0 (1-0, 1-0, 1-0) and thus extended his series.
Meet Coronato, Perbix and Gauthier
In the preliminary round, the USA defeated Germany 3-2 in the third game and marched unbeaten to the top of the group.
They scored against the Czech Republic in Tampere NHL-Player Matt Coronato (13./Calgary Flames) and Nick Perbix (29./Tampa Bay Lightning) as well as Cutter Gauthier (50th/Boston College). The semifinals will take place again in Tampere on Saturday.
