However, the Germans then started a winning streak, defeating Slovakia (2-1), France (3-2), Denmark (1-0), Italy (9-4) and Kazakhstan (5-4). That put Toni Söderholm’s men in a position to play against Switzerland to win the group. You should have won in regular time, but only managed a 3:3 and then lost in a penalty shootout. Nevertheless, second place in Group A can be seen as a great success.

In the title fights of the runner cracks in Finland, the eight best teams were selected in 56 games during the lengthy preliminary round, which lasted almost two weeks.
