Ice Hockey World Championship: USA warm up for the DEB team

The US national team warmed up for the duel with Germany at the Ice Hockey World Championships in Finland and Latvia. The Americans, who had disenchanted defending champions Finland 4-1 at the start, swept promoted Hungary off the ice in Tampere on Sunday 7-1 (2-1, 2-0, 3-0) and are going into Group A as leaders in Group A Game on Monday (3:20 p.m. CEST/Sport1 and MagentaSport) against the selection of the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB).

After the Hungarians surprisingly took the lead through Istvan Sofron (5th), Alex Tuch (7th), Nick Bonino (19th, 24th), Cutter Gauthier (34th), Connor Mackey (42nd) and Rocco Grimaldi ensured (45th) and Luke Tuch (57th) for clear conditions. In Group B in Riga, record world champions Canada had a little harder time. After a weak start, the team from the home country of ice hockey prevailed against newly promoted Slovenia 5:2 (0:1, 3:0, 2:1) and, like their neighbors, scored the maximum of six points after two games.

However, after two games, Switzerland is the leader of the table. The Swiss won against Norway 3-0 (2-0, 0-0, 1-0) and still haven’t conceded a goal. The Czech Republic, third in the World Cup, also has six points after beating Kazakhstan 5-1 (2-0, 0-1, 3-0).
