The Swedish ice hockey talents have been crowned U20 world champions for the third time. In Saint Paul/Minnesota, the Scandinavians beat the Czech Republic 4-2 in the final and celebrated their next triumph after 1981 and 2012.
Canada won the game for third place 6-3 against Finland. Defending champions and hosts USA had already been eliminated in the quarterfinals.
The German team, which had clearly lost 8-1 to Sweden in the preliminary round, avoided relegation at the World Cup with an 8-4 win in the relegation game against Denmark.
