The Straubing Tigers continue to rely on defender Brandon Manning in the German Ice Hockey League.
The 32-year-old Canadian, who scored 23 points last season, has extended his contract by a year.
“Through his NHL experience and the way he plays, he’s a huge help on defense, but he’s also a good offensive player. He’s integrated really well after a long break due to injury,” said Jason Dunham, Tigers athletic director.
Manning has played in the North American professional league for the Philadelphia Flyers, Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers.
