Canadian ice hockey star Kris Letang has suffered a second stroke.
The 35-year-old defenseman for the NHL club Pittsburgh Penguins went to the hospital for examinations on Monday after noticing the corresponding symptoms. This was announced by his club. Letang is out indefinitely.
“I’m lucky enough to know my body well enough to know when something is wrong,” said the three-time Stanley Cup winner. “Even though it’s a difficult subject, I hope it raises awareness Sharpens people. I want my teammates, my family and the fans to know that I’m fine. I’m optimistic and will be back on the ice soon.”
Letang had already suffered a stroke in 2014 and had to pause for two months. Tests at the time revealed that he was born with a hole in his heart.
After the break, Letang was able to continue his career without any problems.
He played 962 premier league games for the Penguins, his only NHL club.
