Ice hockey legend Teppo Rastio has died

Ennobled as hockey lion #29 Prank “Eetu” Rastio has died at the age of 89. Rauma Lukko, Rasti’s long-time club, tells about it.

Rastio played in Luko for 18 seasons between 1950 and 1971. For two seasons, he represented Tampere Ilves.

The hockey lion born in Naantali won a total of three Finnish championships, two of which came in Ilves and one in Luko. In addition, he was involved in winning the first adult SM medal in Luko’s history.

Rasto’s game number 4 is frozen on the ceiling of Luko’s home hall.

Rastio has played for the Finnish national team in seven World Cup tournaments and one Olympic Games.

In addition to playing ice hockey, Rastio was also a respected sports venue builder. He played a significant role in developing the conditions of ice sports in Romania.

The Lukko legend was a true multi-talent in sports. He also played football and field hockey at the national team level.
