Ice hockey, DEL: Munich wins top game in Ingolstadt

Table leader EHC Munich has won the top game in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) at ERC Ingolstadt.

Munich, who were the first team to book a ticket for the playoff quarter-finals a week ago, defeated their first pursuer 3-1 on Tuesday evening (February 21, 2023). Despite the defeat, Ingolstadt remains in second place because third-placed Adler Mannheim lost 5-2 to the Kölner Haie.

The American Austin Ortega scored twice for the leaders from Munich (11th, 26th), Filip Varejcka made the decision in the last minute of the game with his goal into the empty goal of the hosts. Frederik Storm scored the interim equalizer for the ERC (25th).

Düsseldorf wins in Bremerhaven

The Iserlohn Roosters lost two days after the 1:8 smack against Straubing against the Löwen Frankfurt with 2:3 after extra time, the Düsseldorfer EG won at the Fischtown Pinguins in Bremerhaven with 3:2 after penalty shootout.
