Ice hockey DEL: Mannheim vs. Munich – live ticker – 18th matchday – 2022/2023

51.

21:31

Now it’s really going round! More penalties are required on both sides. Munich is suddenly awake again and of course wants more here.

50

21:28

Yasin Ehliz

Goal for EHC Munich, 3:2 by Yasin Ehliz

Crazy! Outnumbered, the cops are back! Mannheim plays weakly from the back on the power play and makes a few inaccurate passes, so that the hard rubber ends up with Zach Redmond. With a lot of overview, he lays across for Yasin Ehliz, who nets from the high slot in the left gable.

48

21:26

Ryan McKiernan

Minor penalty (2 minutes) for Ryan McKiernan (EHC Munich)

Of course, that doesn’t help in a potential catch-up race! Ryan McKiernan has to pit for a cross check.

45

21:23

Scarce thing! Denis Reul deflects a Munich shot on goal as unnecessarily as he is unlucky and is lucky that Arno Tiefensee is wide awake again this time.

44

21:20

Even in five-a-side, Mannheim is still the more active team and initially closer to a goal than the guests.

42

21:18

The power play just does not want to run at the Kurpfälzer. Again and again the eagles get bogged down and never get any rest in the game. Ortega is back and Munich is complete again.

41

21:15

After a short cosmetic repair on the ice, the final third can begin. Mannheim is still 95 seconds ahead.

41

21:15

Beginning of 3rd third

40

20:56

third conclusion;
The Adler Mannheim are still on course after 40 minutes and are leading 3:1 against EHC Munich! The hosts were again more powerful and were able to reward themselves when a Loibl shot luckily found its way into the net. Munich started slowly again, but got stronger this time and even had more shots on goal after 40 minutes, but most of them were no problem for the cheerful Mannheim goalie Arno Tiefensee. The Eagles start the final period a good minute and a half ahead with Austin Ortega still serving his penalty. See you soon!

40

20:51

Austin Ortega

Minor penalty (2 minutes) for Austin Ortega (EHC Munich)

For the last 23 seconds it goes into the majority again. Austin Ortega is in jail for tripping.

39

20:51

Deep sea again! Munich builds up well and after a fine cross pass through the slot, Austin Ortega pulls from the left face-off circle. Mannheim’s goalie is very attentive and closes the short corner.

38

20:49

The power play of the eagles is meager today. This time no puck flies on the Munich goal in two minutes. Parkes is back on the ice.

36

20:46

Trevor Parkes

Minor penalty (2 minutes) for Trevor Parkes (EHC Munich)

Next power play Mannheim! Trevor Parkes has to cool down for two minutes because of excessive hardness.

35

20:46

Munich increases the number of strokes and suddenly Tiffels has the great opportunity when he appears alone in front of Arno Tiefensee. The 27-year-old couldn’t get the puck past Arno Tiefensee, who reacted strongly again.

34

20:43

On the other side, Trevor Parkes leaves two Mannheimers standing and shoots from the right into the far corner. Arno Tiefensee extends the schooner and parries to the side.

33

20:41

Good chance to 4:1! Mannheim countered in a 2-on-1 and Jordan Szwarz crossed for Nigel Dawes a few yards from goal. His Onetimer is then blocked by Jonathon Blum at the very last second.

32

20:40

The power break comes in handy for the guests. Munich needs to change something here and make significant gains in almost every respect.

29

20:35

McKiernan and DeSousa at least do something for the statistics again and fire twice from a distance at Danny from the Birken’s box, who is allowed to make two more saves,

27

20:32

Munich continues to look bad when Mannheim play at a high pace. The championship leader is a bit lacking in freshness and power today.

25

20:27

Stefan Loibl

Goal for Adler Mannheim, 3:1 by Stefan Loibl

What’s the point of scoring in a majority if you can also score in a tie? This thing is lucky for the eagles too though! Because Danny from the Birken parried twice against David Wolf and Stefan Loibl, but Filip Varejcka unluckily pushed the disc into his own goal with his ice skate.

24

20:27

The Eagles start furiously on the power play and put a lot of pressure on in the first 30 seconds, but then lose the thread and can’t get into formation at all. Munich defends skillfully and is complete again.

22

20:23

Ryan McKiernan

Minor penalty (2 minutes) for Ryan McKiernan (EHC Munich)

Now the hosts are allowed to outnumber themselves for the first time! McKiernan has to go to the cooler after a stop.

21

20:21

Mannheim is back in full force and Markus Eisenschmid fires the first puck just wide of the Munich goal after a few seconds.

21

20:20

Beginning of 2nd third

20

20:05

third conclusion:
A furious first third in the top game between Mannheim and Munich goes 2-1 to the home side! The Adler were there from the first seconds, overran the Red Bulls in the first few minutes and deservedly took the lead through Donovan. Munich only came in better after ten minutes, but then correctly. Eder equalized, then the guests were close to the opening goal in the power play. In the last five minutes, however, Mannheim took command again. The Kurpfalzer quickly bridge the neutral zone again and again and look for the conclusion. This was also the case with Plachtas 2:1, which provided the hosts with the well-deserved lead. Let’s continue with the second third in the SAP Arena!

20

20:01

Maksymilian Szuber can at least get another shot on goal and fires from a tight angle at the short corner. Arno Tiefensee cannot be outwitted with that.

19

20:00

The eagles remain poisonous and want to refill immediately. Munich lost a lot after a good five minutes.

17

19:57

Matthew Plachta

Goal for Adler Mannheim, 2:1 by Matthias Plachta

Mannheim is back in front! Again it’s a quick pass to the blue line that undermines the EHC defence. David Wolf is the buyer and puts straight across the course of Matthias Plachta. This one is then up and away, getting past Danny out of the birches on the stick hand side. Season goal number nine for Plachta!

16

19:57

Markus Eisenschmid also chases the hard rubber sharply through the goal area and almost finds a buyer. Munich is currently not doing a good job and lets the disc through into the danger zone too often.

15

19:54

The eagles shook themselves briefly and are now making steam again. Luca Tosto misses a sharp cross pass in the slot by just centimetres.

13.

19:50

Munich quickly gets in formation and really gets going for two minutes. The four of Munich defend passionately and always deliver the passes and shots in good time. In the end, things get hot again in front of Arno Tiefensee, but in the end the eagles join forces to clear the field and are allowed to fill up again.

11.

19:47

Nigel Dawes

Minor penalty (2 minutes) for Nigel Dawes (Adler Mannheim)

And now the guests are allowed to outnumber them! Nigel Dawes is on the Mannheim side for two minutes after being hit with a stick.

10

19:45

Andrew Eder

Goal for EHC Munich, 1:1 by Andreas Eder

Shortly after the first real shot by Tiffels, the Munich team hit the target with the second shot! Tiffels works the disc behind the goal to Kastner, who slots a perfect flip pass to Andreas Eder. Without hesitation, he pulls away immediately and the hard rubber crashes into the left corner.

8th.

19:42

At least defensively, the Bulls have now stabilized and won’t let themselves be overwhelmed by the Eagles. However, there is little progress at the EHC.

6.

19:40

Frederik Tiffels makes his 200th DEL game for the guests today. After 45 goals and 113 assists in the first 199 games, Tiffels is far from a scorer point today. However, this applies to all Munich residents.

5.

19:37

Munich is still not really in this game and is almost always behind.

3.

19:34

Matt Donovan

Goal for Adler Mannheim, 1:0 by Matt Donovan

The Eagles are rewarded for a brilliant start with the early lead! Again, the home side come into the zone with speed and chase one shot after the other at Danny’s goal from the birches. He parried well against Nico Krämmer and didn’t let Matt Donovan net in the first attempt either, but the defender was allowed to do it again and shoveled the puck over the line from an acute angle.

2.

19:33

Mannheim starts the fire brigade and ends well twice. First a shot by Mark Katic is fished away from the birches, then Loibl fires just wide from the high slot.

1.

19:31

Here we go! Arno Tiefensee is in the box for the hosts, who play in blue and red, and Danny aus den Birken guards the box for the guests, who play in white.

19:17

The guests from Munich have been back where they want to be at the end of the season since Sunday. With a 5:2 win against the Iserlohn Roosters, the EHC took the lead in the standings. Don Jackson’s team had previously redeemed themselves for the 0-1 top game in Bremerhaven with a 6-3 win over Ingolstadt on Friday. Ben Smith shone with five points at the weekend. The guests have to do without Yannic Seidenberg today, who is still suspended after a conspicuous doping test at the beginning of September. Konrad Abeltshauser, Ben Street and goalkeeper Mathias Niederberger are also absent due to injury.

19:05

After three wins in a row, the hosts recently suffered a setback. Mannheim lost 3-2 in Nuremberg on Sunday and have to be content with fourth place. Overall, the Kurpfälzer have stabilized after their weak start to the season and won ten of the last 13 games. In Nuremberg, the eagles had to deal with a lot of unnecessary penalties. The Stewart protégés want to refrain from that today and take revenge for the 2:5 defeat in the first game of the season in Munich.

19:00

Hello and welcome to the DEL on Tuesday evening! The Adler Mannheim have the EHC Munich as a guest on the 18th matchday. It starts at 7:30 p.m. in the SAP Arena!
