Status: 02/24/2023 10:23 p.m

The Kölner Haie celebrated Moritz Müller’s 1000th DEL game with a goal festival in Iserlohn. The sovereign table leader Red Bull Munich landed against Frankfurt the fifth win in a row. The Adler Mannheim collect a bitter bankruptcy against the Eisbären Berlin.

National team captain Moritz Müller celebrated a resounding victory in his 1000th game in the German Ice Hockey League with the Kölner Haie. On Friday evening (02/24/2023) the Haie won their captain’s anniversary game 8:2 (3:0, 4:1, 1:1) at the Iserlohn Roosters, who suffered a serious setback in the fight for the playoff qualification.

The Haie are almost certainly in the pre-playoff round thanks to the clear and well-deserved success. For the seventh in the table, direct qualification for the playoff quarterfinals four games before the end of the season is still within reach. To do this, the Haie have to finish in the top six. Competitor Grizzlys Wolfsburg is still five points ahead of Cologne after the 2-0 (1-0, 0-0, 1-0) at the Schwenninger Wild Wings.

Berlin still with playoff chances after victory in Mannheim

The Eisbären Berlin were able to make up ground in the race for the playoff spots. The reigning champions won against the Adler Mannheim 5:2 (2:1, 0:1, 3:0) and thus reduced their deficit in tenth place to six points. Matt White, Peter Regin, Alexandre Grenier, Zach Boychuk and Yannick Veilleux scored for the capitals, who used their chances more consistently than the hosts.

Ingolstadt safe in the playoffs, Munich still sovereign

Thanks to a 6: 3 (3: 0, 1: 1, 2: 2) against the Fischtown Penguins Bremerhaven, ERC Ingolstadt secured their ticket for the round of the top eight ahead of time. The previously qualified table leaders Red Bull Munich celebrated their fifth win in a row with a 4-0 (0-0, 3-0, 1-0) against Löwen Frankfurt and once again underlined their own title ambitions.
