Montpellier (dpa) – The ice dance Olympic champions Gabriella Papadakis/Guillaume Cizeron from France are heading for their fifth title at the home World Championships.
The duo scored a record 92.73 in their signature rhythm dance to songs by John Legend. The Olympic bronze medalists Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue from the USA follow in second place with 89.72 points ahead of their compatriots Madison Chock/Evan Bates (87.51).
A German couple is not at the start after the German champions Jennifer Janse van Rensburg/Benjamin Steffan had to pass because of a positive corona test at Steffan and the Olympic participants Katharina Müller/Tim Dieck could not move up due to illness.
