İlkin Aydın, the successful volleyball player of the National Team and Galatasaray, talked about the famous pose he took with Icardi. Aydın, who gave an interview to Hürriyet, said:
– You made the whole of Turkey very happy last summer. Are you excited for the Olympics?
I am very excited. I have been excited since the national team season ended last year. I will probably be very excited until the beginning of the Olympics. We are aware that there is expectation. I hope there will be a healthy national team season and no injuries. The thought of why we shouldn’t become champions in both tournaments is amazing. Our goals are in that direction, let’s see. The Olympic championship is the dream of all athletes. It’s not something that can’t happen.
– You recently attended an award ceremony. Your speech was greatly appreciated. But the pose you took with Mauro Icardi after the ceremony was talked about more. How did it develop? Can we hear from you?
Now that I went there with that bow tie, how our photo with Icardi was talked about more, I was a little offended. All jokes aside, it was a very nice night for me. We were sitting back to back with Icardi. Suddenly, a lot of notifications started coming to my phone. I opened it and people wrote about the Icardi-İlkin photo. So I said I wouldn’t offend anyone. When I came across him on stage, I immediately told him that I was playing for Galatasaray. And he said, ‘I know.’ I was surprised by this at first. He posed normally while the photo was being taken, I said, ‘No, everyone is waiting for us to pose for goal celebration.’ That’s how it developed.
