Katie Baunach’s mother told about her daughter’s ex-husband.
Bodybuilder By Ian Baunach43, is suspected of killing his ex-wife Katie Baunach39 in the United States.
Ian Baunach was arrested in October after officers went to his apartment with a search warrant and found the burned remains of Katie Baunach in the yard. The police found several weapons in the former Marine’s house.
The police also noticed blood stains in the trunk of Ian Baunach’s car and found a recently burned fireplace and a barrel in the yard. A jawbone and a tooth were found in the ashes.
At this point, Ian Baunach was accused of, among other things, first degree murder. He has denied all the allegations. He was charged with 13 counts, including murder, illegal cremation, drug possession, destroying evidence and violating federal gun laws.
Mother of Katie Baunach Carolyn McKinney told to the WLBT website that he was immediately worried about his daughter’s new man before the couple had met for the first time. He had searched for information about Ian Baunach on the internet and found information about arrests on the sidebar. She told the site it was every mother’s worst nightmare.
Among other things, Ian Baunach’s two ex-wives had reported his violence, but the authorities did not take these accusations seriously.
McKinney kept his worries to himself.
Ian and Katie Baunach eventually had two children, a boy and a girl. They began to build a life together in Florida.

Ian Baunach asked McKinney to move in with them. Eventually, McKinney agreed to this, but soon realized that something was wrong.
According to McKinney by Ian Baunach Zeuswas punished several times for killing a couple’s chickens that had escaped from a chicken coop in the backyard. McKinney says she witnessed Ian Baunach beat Zeus the dog with a piece of wood before tying the dog to a tree and beginning to beat the chicken with the carcass.
McKinney told her daughter about her concerns, but Katie Baunach said Ian was just being an idiot.
The atmosphere in the house was tense all the time. Ian Baunach got mad at McKinney every time he left to do his own thing. According to Ian Baunach, McKinney should have asked permission to do this first.
Ian Baunach often transformed into “The Hulk” when he got angry. According to McKinney, she felt threatened after one argument and knew she had to leave the house.
– He turned into a monster.
After the move, Katie Baunach called her mother several times and told her about Ian Baunach’s sudden mood swings. Ian Baunach could be calm for a moment until the next time he shouted again.
McKinney said her daughter still believed at this point that Ian Baunach could change.
Then the physical abuse began. Ian Baunach strangled Katie Baunach and was accused of taking her children of abuse.
The couple divorced in January 2022, eight months later Katie Baunach died.
– I want law enforcement officers and judges to believe women when they say they are being hurt, McKinney says.
McKinney said her daughter was funny and talented and knew what she wanted.
– Katie was a wonderful person. She just wanted to be a mom.
McKinney said her daughter worked as a nurse. She is currently raising her daughter’s children and works full-time.
The last time Ian Baunach competed in a bodybuilding competition was in 2020 in the Classic physique category of the PC Federation’s North American Championships over 40 years old.
