‘I was no longer asked’

Catherine Keyl can suddenly be seen again as a sidekick in the talk show HLF8. A few weeks ago she complained in the Party that she was suddenly no longer asked, but yesterday she was there again.

Catherine Keyl is currently in the running to win an award for best TV interview of the year. Earlier this year, the presenter interviewed Johnny de Mol in his own talk show HLF8. He abruptly stopped presenting the program six months ago and Hélène Hendriks and Leonie ter Braak have been at the helm ever since.

Catherine is back

Catherine, meanwhile, seemed to have gotten sidetracked at HLF8. Two weeks ago she said in the Party: “I am really overloaded with positive messages, but the funny thing is: I am no longer asked by HLF8. Other talk shows see that as an opening, by the way, so I sometimes get an invitation left and right.”

Suddenly Catherine was back at the table at HLF8 yesterday; 321 thousand people (7 percent) watched the broadcast on SBS 6, no fat pot. What does Catherine actually do when she’s not on TV? “I like to read and a lot. And I binge watch a lot, so watch episodes of series on Netflix in a row.”

Glennis at Jinek

The most watched talk show of the evening was that of Eva Jinek. Her interview with Glennis Grace attracted 859 thousand viewers (24 percent) and with that she beat Today Inside, which was watched by 767 thousand people (17 percent). Khalid & Sophie attracted 601 thousand viewers (16 percent).

Viewing figures expert Tina Nijkamp speaks of a ‘top score’ for Eva and media maker Rens Muller notes that about 200,000 people have watched more than usual. “Enough to knock Today Inside off the talk show throne,” he tweeted.

Detection on one

The TV classic Opsporing Verzocht was the prime time winner with more than 1.1 million viewers (23 percent); immediately afterwards, Rescuers at Sea attracted ‘only’ 746 thousand viewers (16 percent).

The other most viewed prime-time titles were RTL 4’s Bureau Arnhem (746 thousand and 16 percent), NPO 2’s Nieuwsuur (590 thousand and 13 percent) and SBS 6’s Familie Gillis (573 thousand and 12 percent).
