Nine years later, von Birchan was working as a doorman at a Stockholm hotel when he met Morgan for the second time.
Morgan had asked von Birchan what weapon would be best if one wanted to kill someone in a political sense. Von Birchan shared his views, after which he was presented with an offer.
– You will get two million dollars if you kill Olof Palme, the man says that Morgan proposed.
Von Birchen answered the request “never”.
– I was on Olof Palme’s side. He was a very honest man. I would never have done anything bad to him for any amount of money.
Von Birchan says that he warned the police about the assassination planned by the CIA in November 1985.
Three months later, Palme was dead. The suspected murder weapon was a .357-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver. That was exactly what von Birchan had described to Morgan.
