There, she ran into a fan who wanted a photo with Muguruza. The tennis star agreed to the request.
– I thought he was handsome! Muguruza now reminisces Hello!in an interview with the magazine.
The man wished the tennis star good luck at the US Open, and the two later continued dating. They often went for walks in Central Park.
Now, almost two years later, Muguruza is engaged to the same man.
She is Arthur Borges, Kiira Korven former husband.
Borges and Korpi divorced in June 2021. The couple had time to be together for 11 years.
The proposal was a surprise
Muguruza was attracted to Borges by the fact that he did not come from tennis circles. The man worked in fashion.
The woman told Hola! magazine about the surprising courtship that happened recently in Marbella. Borges was kneeling before his beloved.
– It felt strange. I was thinking about something completely different, and then when he proposed, I started to cry. I didn’t know how to react. I said yes through tears, it was very romantic.
Borges was born in Spain, but lived most of his life in Finland.
– He is a mixture, just like me. I’m half Venezuelan and half Spanish, so we understand each other. We share the feeling that we are citizens of the world.
According to Muguruza, the wedding will take place in Spain, somewhere near the beach, but no plans have been made yet.

Muguruza was at her best the number one name in the world rankings in 2017. However, the woman has not played for almost half a year, so the ranking position is now 168.
Muguruza has wanted to distance herself from tennis and spend time with her family.
