Singer Jari Sillanpää commented Western pass– magazine for the first time in March 2020, the sentence he received for distributing an image that offends sexual decency.

Sillanpää was sentenced to a 45-day fine for the act, which resulted in a total of 15,480 euros to be paid with the singer’s income. The court justified its decision by the fact that Sillanpää had filmed a video on his computer screen with his mobile phone, in which an adult man was having sex with a very young child. In addition, according to the court’s reasoning, Sillanpää had taken 8 pictures from the computer screen with his mobile phone, in which an adult is sexually acting on a very young child.

Sillanpää denied the charges in court and claimed that the photos and video on September 24, 2017 had been taken by her male friend.

In a recent interview with Länsiväylä, Sillanpää tells what thoughts the verdict evokes today. He admits that the sentence in question, as well as sentences for drug crimes and drunk driving, have been reflected in the sale of concert tickets.

Sillanpää comments on the distribution of the photo itself in the article as follows:

– The matter cannot be underestimated, but it has only happened in 5 or 10 minutes, when I was sitting on the computer in my drug addiction and sent a picture of the stream. I deleted the photos after less than 24 hours, but I still have to carry that reputation for the rest of my life, says Sillanpää in Länsiväylä.

The singer has been living with her husband Siimi in Vihti for four years now. According to Sillanpää, the new home has calmed him down.

– And age – I’m about to turn 60. I no longer feel like running in bars like I did in my thirties, says the singer.
