A resident of a house on the Ritmeesterweg in Hollandscheveld was surprised this morning in his yard with a visit from six cows
One of the animals had ended up in his unused swimming pool, and there was no way he could get out by himself. The Slagharen fire brigade came to the rescue, and was assisted by the Hoogeveen fire brigade.

Later, the Westerbork fire brigade also arrived on site to lift the unfortunate cow out of the water with a special hoist. The cow was reunited with its peers in a nearby pasture and, at first glance, did not sustain any injuries.
