i-mens takes action in Bruges against a staff shortage
At ‘t Zand in Bruges, the care organization, in collaboration with Cirq vzw, gave the starting signal for ‘i-mens on tour’. With their mobile studio, i-mens employees set out to talk to people and try to warm them up to a challenge in healthcare.
54,000 people by 2030
The organization has 600 unfilled vacancies, ranging from nurses, carers, child counselors to cleaning assistants. The entire sector is suffering from a staff shortage with few candidates showing up.
Meanwhile, the aging population will only increase the demand for care. 3,300 people can immediately enter a healthcare profession and receive immediate wages while undergoing training, because some 54,000 new workers will be needed by 2030.
Flemish Minister of Health Hilde Crevits, healthcare ambassador Candice De Windt, mayor De fauw and Karin Van Mossevelde, general manager of i-mens were also present at the start of the tour.
