Linda de Mol has become somewhat bitter due to the scandal surrounding her husband. But can you still present cheerful entertainment like Ik Hou Van Holland? The viewer is done with it…
After the scandal surrounding Jeroen Rietbergen and his misconduct at The Voice of Holland, his beloved Linda de Mol was reluctant to present the uber-cheerful Ik Hou Van Holland for a while. Rob Kemps did the honors for a while, but now Linda herself is back. A problem? The viewer drops out. Massive.
Done with Linda?
While only 665 thousand people watched last week (119 thousand more watched after a delay), Ik Hou Van Holland reached a pitifully poor 537 thousand viewers last night. Including all postponed viewers, that may be around 600 thousand. And to think that in 2012 an average of 2.6 million people watched…
In other words: the viewer seems a bit fed up with Linda. She feels that it is not sincere that an embittered woman is suddenly acting very cheerful in a television studio. She now scores even worse than her replacement Rob Kemps; He managed to charm an average of 785 thousand viewers with the program last year.
Historic day
Tina Nijkamp speaks on her ratings channel of a ‘historic day’. Ik Hou Van Holland once caused Paul de Leeuw’s TV retreat, but yesterday he scored a lot better with his heavily criticized Hotel Hollandia. “For the first time in 14 (!) years he scores higher than direct competitor Linda de Mol.”
She continues: “Paul was used to being the sole ruler on Saturdays at 8:30 PM with his Mooi! De Leeuw again until the second year of Ik Hou Van Holland. Linda started in 2008 and won every week from 2009 onwards. All those years, Paul had to let Linda go first on Saturdays.”
Paul wins
Paul even stopped his Saturday evening shows in 2013 due to a lack of viewers. “So until now. Paul finally beats Linda again. Now both at 9:30 PM instead of 8:30 PM and Linda scores considerably lower: 537 thousand but for Ik Hou Van Holland.”
Can’t Linda boast some good viewing figures in some commercial target group? No, not either, says Tina. “Also a profit for Paul in 25 to 54 years: 20.1 vs 12.4 percent market share.”
Chantal also better
Also painful? Linda’s former show Oh Wat A Year, now with Chantal Janzen, also scored better on RTL 4: 843 thousand people watched it, good for a 25 percent market share in the target group.
Tina’s conclusion? “A mediocre start to the season for Linda de Mol.”
