Hafthor “Thor” Björnsson was injured a couple of weeks ago. The man’s pectoral muscle tore when he was doing a bench press with 252.5 kilograms in a powerlifting competition.
The man posted a couple of pictures of his injury on Instagram before the surgery.
– I know this looks bad, but I feel really good. I am sure that with the team we will get the best possible result. This may sound strange, but I can’t wait for tomorrow’s surgery, Björnsson wrote next to the pictures.
Orthopedist Steve Mora operated on the Icelandic muscle bundle on Wednesday.

Björnsson, who is also known from the Game of Thrones series, won the world’s strongest man competition in 2018. In addition, the man has done the ME deadlift of 501 kilograms in 2020.
After powerlifting, Björnsson tried his hand at boxing, but now the man is making a comeback as a powerlifter.
