Jani Komulainen The last season of Jymy, led by Sotkamo, ended in a big disappointment after the tie was broken already in the quarterfinals. After the game, Komulainen planned to take a gap year and distance himself from the sport. However, the opposite happened.

– The decision kept me mentally ready for the turn of the year. When the indoor games started in January, I noticed that the passion for baseball has not died down. I watched all the men’s and women’s games that were available on TV.

When Mansen’s contact came, Komulainen’s interest in the game manager was immediately aroused. However, he wanted to discuss the matter with his family first.

– I had deep discussions with my family, meaning I also wanted my son Aapon vision. After a couple of days of discussions, the matter was clear and I continued negotiations with Mansen.

Komulainen signed a comprehensive contract for this season. The first meeting with the team was exciting.

– The environment was new and the players were familiar only as opponents. However, I was faced by a highly motivated team who wanted me as their game manager. The feeling has been good from the first moment.

– It was a pleasure to notice that the players had worked hard. For example, there were excellent results in the physics tests. We also immediately went through what the team’s values are. This included, for example, awareness of the level of requirements.

Mansen’s new chief whip has not discussed the sidelined Toni Kohonen with.

– I didn’t want to disturb him, and he hasn’t been in contact with me either.

Hungry man

Komulainen says that last season left a big hunger for the future. He also sees that he has learned from last season’s Jymy disappointment.

– Last fall, I made a deep analysis of what happened in the team and what I could have done differently.

When asked what was the biggest lesson, Komulainen thinks for a long time.

Jani Komulainen is facing a new challenge as the manager of Manse PP. Ville Vuorinen

– The biggest lesson was that the management and the players can’t think that they can do it by assuming. You have to be able to change the way you play all the time by reacting to the situation.

Komulainen has seven strong teams in the series, which include Vimpeli, Sotkamo, Joensuu, Kouvola, Hyvinkää and Kempele in addition to Manse.

– If everything goes smoothly for us, the sky is open.

Komulainen’s spring has been busy as a whole. He has also held the position of Vuokatti’s school director.

– Provincial tourism has become a hobby. At the same time, thanks to the municipality of Sotkamo for making this possible.

– When I settle more in Tampere, I need to get to know the surroundings more widely. At least black sausage is on the list – you have to try it at the market.
