‘I found my happiness at work through coaching’

“It has always been a goal of mine to become a successful entrepreneur and create a multi-million dollar company. But for a long time I didn’t know what that should be. Since I started for myself seventeen years ago, it has been quite a quest. I tried a lot – for example, I had an interior design shop and worked in marketing for a long time – but those tracks came to a dead end.

“When the online world and online marketing emerged, I immediately started retraining. I have always been a stage animal, which makes the world of social media a good fit for me. And I discovered that you can actually control how successful your company becomes, because you can work on visibility on the internet. I like that game a lot.

„With that knowledge I have a digital agency designed to help companies with their online visibility. Corona has certainly boosted that, as companies realized they needed to do more with social media to reach their target audiences. My agency has grown very fast.

“In the meantime, I discovered that I can guide not only companies, but also entrepreneurs who are on their own, in the steps they can take to grow their business. In coaching I really found my happiness at work. I really enjoy helping other people through the struggles that I have gone through myself. I now spend about 30 percent of my time on my agency, the rest on coaching. I do not experience a ceiling in this, this is my long-term trajectory.”

“Since 2020, I have been the breadwinner of our family of five. My husband sets up a business during school hours, but it’s still in the early stages. He is now more at home, so I have the freedom to go full throttle. At the moment we don’t save, because I want to grow my business as quickly as possible. Everything goes back into the case.

“But of course I have to support a family. I pay myself 2,900 euros per month. Fortunately, I can afford some expenses, such as the car and internet and TV. We make conscious choices about our expenses. For example, we only eat organic, even if it is more expensive. We do our shopping in an organic supermarket every Saturday and it’s gone.

“Winter sports are also something we like to spend money on. That holiday is high on our wish list this year, especially because it has not been possible lately due to corona. But it depends on the case whether we go or not. If the turnover is disappointing, we will make it a pleasant quarter without luxuries. Our children experience this very consciously, the lessons of entrepreneurship. On the one hand I have always wanted to save them that, but on the other hand they know our dreams and they also see that we are doing our best for them.”
