‘I don’t really need super power, that’s not for me’

Where and with whom do you live?

‘I live in Hasselt, Overijssel with my father Barry (43), my mother Stefanie (39), my brother Fabian (12), my brother Fedde (6) and my brother Mats (4).’

Do you have animals?

‘Yes, I live on a farm, so there are a lot of animals there. We have cows, sheep, chickens, dogs, cats and a horse. The horse’s name is Patrick, it’s my favorite animal on the farm.’

What are your hobbies?

‘Freerunning and horseback riding, I just do that on the farm with Patrick. We do not do jumping or dressage. He’s basically a draft horse, so he wasn’t built for that. I’ve been freerunning for half a year now. I like that because it can be done in many places. You can decide for yourself what you do and you are free.’

What makes you happy?

‘I just enjoy having fun with our family and my friends. I don’t really care what we do then. Usually we go sailing with our sloop, barbecue or climb. When we go to barbecue, I usually light the barbecue with my brother, while my parents are still milking the cows.’

Who are your friends?

“I have a lot of nice friends: Tygo, Owen, Milan, Brian and Sam. We do many different things together. Sometimes we jump on the trampoline, sometimes we go cycling and sometimes we build huts. It changes, but it’s always outside.’

What is most important to you?

‘My family. Not one specific family member, they are all important to me. We have a big family and we all get together often. It’s always fun with everyone. I have many nieces and nephews and even go to class with my second cousin, Sam.’

What superpower would you like to have?

‘No idea. I don’t really need super powers, that’s not for me at all.’

Do you get pocket money?

‘No, but I’m already making money. I used to have a newspaper route with my brother, but I recently stopped doing that. I also do farm work. I often drive the tractor on our site, I can do that myself. I recently bought a drilling machine for building huts.’

What will your life look like in ten years?

‘In ten years I hope that my life will be somewhat the same as it is now. Then I still work on my parents’ farm, I think. Hopefully I will have many friends around me. I’m actually quite happy with the way it is now. I do hope that I will then have my driver’s license so that I can hit the road with the tractor.’
