Bassist of the band Elonkerjuu Antero Naaliproperly named Marko Anttila, died on Friday, December 29 of a rapidly progressing illness. He was 53 years old.

The band’s fans have shared their memories of Naali on Facebook.

– In my dizzy youth, I toured dozens of Elonkerjuu gigs. We were a great group and a few of us almost always parked ourselves in front of the bass player. When Antero noticed us, a smile often appeared on his face. Sometimes he thought he was crazy, but this too with great warmth. After many gigs, we exchanged information and sometimes even improved the world. Play Antero a decent bass solo, on Facebook unofficial Antero in Naali’s fan group will be written.

– I’m so sad and I can’t understand that such a good man was taken away. He was always so cheerful and kind. Sometimes we bumped into each other in the stadium, hugged and exchanged news. For me, his wrong gig was the gig at the Eino pub in Järvenpää. I remember when he said that it was nice to see “old” fans in the audience – always a grateful man. May he rest in peace, I will never forget, a fan writes to Elonkerju Facebook post in the comments.

– A piece of Elonkerjuuta is gone. The bassist who danced away evil.

– Everything progressed incredibly quickly. It’s hard to understand why Marko was taken away from here. We were in Kivitipu in November, whose stage Marko no longer climbed. Now he’s playing in our thoughts, out there somewhere.

– At Sepänniemi’s gig recently, I noticed that Ana was really in her element and came out with a different enthusiasm. And I’ve been following you since the early 2000s. Warm condolences and strength for great sadness to you band and loved ones. These touch so deeply.

Elonkerjuu announced Naali’s death on its Facebook page on Saturday.

– We are all shocked by how quickly things have progressed. Back in October, Ana was in the call queue. Sorsanpesä’s gig in Seinäjoki was unfortunately the last, the band laments in their publication.

– For decades we have played and experienced life together. A man was taken from our lives far too soon. Too many laughs, songs and stories were not seen and experienced. Ana’s good humor and smile definitely caught every viewer, every listener. Antero always gave his all. Marko was a player with a big ace, a pedant who loved music, playing and performing.

– There would be thousands of stories to tell. But now we mourn. Thank you dear Napakettu, thank you for all the years together, the writing ended.
