Interviewed on the occasion of the announcement that she will stand for the third time in the municipal elections within a year, Ada Colau talks about Eurovision, about the singer who represented Spain and about the one she would have preferred to do so.
What did you think of the outcome of the Eurovision Song Contest? Were you more in favor of Rigoberta Bandini attending, who ended up losing that race to Chanel?
I was from Bandini, I didn’t hide it. I’m a big fan of hers, and when I met her, Paula, I told her about it with great gratitude. Because I discovered her in the midst of a pandemic, we were at home and she was the way to dance in the kitchen. At home, the ‘Ay Mama’ has triumphed, everyone knows it. Rigoberta Bandini was my choice, she couldn’t be.

And what do you think of Chanel, who ended up achieving a more than remarkable third place in the contest?
It must be recognized that Chanel is an artist with incredible talent. I don’t like the song that much, to be honest, but she is a spectacular artist and she deserved to achieve a very good result.
