The second practices of the F1 weekend in Miami were run on the night between Friday and Saturday Finnish time.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was the fastest in the session. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz was second, 0.385 seconds behind the top time driven by the Dutchman.

Ferrari’s other driver Charles Leclerc was third, although his session was interrupted. Leclerc slightly lost control of his car in the middle stages of the eighth corner of the track and ran head first into the wall. The Monaco native was not seen on the track after the crash.

The renewed surface of the Miami track has been quite slippery and it was visible in other practices as well. For example, Haas Kevin Magnussen spun during training, but was miraculously spared from major damage.

Mercedes duo Lewis Hamilton–George Russell was the top two in the first practice, but after the second practice, the pair sled can be found on the results list in places seven and 15.

Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas was again 14th in practice. The Finn’s ranking was therefore the same as in the first free practice.

Despite everything, Charles Leclerc was third in practice. PDO
