Hurry-Up lets LIONS equalize eight seconds before time

HANDBALL – Hurry-Up has scored the first point in the HandbalNL League against LIONS: 25-25. For a long time the Zwartemeerders seemed to take the win.

After 5-5, Hurry-Up started swinging in the championship pool during the first home game. It started in own goal with David Ferreira. The Portuguese came to more than ten stops before half-time.

Ferreira was under the bar at Hurry-Up, because Boris Tot was missing due to the sudden death of his brother Denis Tot (28). The latter, a pro in North Macedonia, went into cardiac arrest on Thursday evening and later died in hospital in Skopje. The Hurry-Up goalie has rushed back to home country Croatia.

After 13-10 halfway through, Bernie Vermeer made the difference to six (18-12). The captain of Hurry-Up is back after an injury and managed to score three times against LIONS. Vermeer could not prevent the guests from Limburg, winner of the BENE-League, from returning via former player Joao Jacob Ramos.
