Hurry-Up just falls short in the NL-League opening game

HANDBALL – Hurry-Up suffered a narrow defeat in the opening game of the NL-League. In an exciting match, Aalsmeer was just too strong for coach Joop Fiege’s team. The match ended 27-26.

Last week was the last round of the BENE-League, the handball competition in which six Dutch and six Belgian teams participate. However, no Dutch champion has been crowned in this competition, so the Dutch teams will compete for the national title in the NL-League from today. Hurry-Up, which finished in 8th place in the BENE-League, opened the ball today against Aalsmeer, which finished third.

Best goalkeeper of the BENE-League

The Croatian goalkeeper of Hurry-Up, Boris Tot, has been voted the best goalkeeper of the BENE-League this week. He showed his qualities right from the start. Due to a strong opening, Hurry-Up, from Zwartemeer, quickly took a 5-1 lead. The match turned, Aalsmeer was able to make better use of the opportunities and Hurry-Up became more sloppy. From a 7-7 score, both teams stayed close to each other. Aalsmeer went into halftime with a 14-13 lead.

Blood-curdling second half

After the break, Hurry-Up initially had little to say. The team from Zwartemeer faced a five-point deficit within a short time. But the Zwartemeerders fought themselves back into the game. With 10 minutes left on the clock, the score was tied again, 22-22. An exciting final phase started, in which the difference in level between the two teams was minimal. Two minutes before the end, Aalsmeer ended up with one man less and Hurry-Up was 26-25 behind. The team of coach Joop Fiege only just got the short end of the stick, both teams managed to score one more time, so that the game ended in 27-26 for Aalsmeer.

KEMBIT/LIONS will visit Zwartemeer next week. This team finished second in the BENE-League.
