Hurry-Up does not give up and knocks Quintus

HANDBALL – In round five, Hurry-Up’s first victory in the HandbalNL League has been won. By winning against Quintus 33-27, the Zwartemeerders keep the championship candidates in their sights.

It wasn’t until after 8-8 that Hurry-Up got loose. Goalkeeper Boris Tot made a number of extra stops. In the first half, Bernie Vermeer scored five for the home team.

After 17-12 halfway through, Quintus, last in the HandbalNL League, did not give up. After 23-20, Hurry-Up’s trainer/coach Joop Fiege went into time-out. In the sequel, youth international Brent Riksten, who scored five goals in the last thirty minutes, provided air (30-24).

After that, the first victory in the championship pool was no longer in danger for Hurry-Up. The Zwartemeerders were not very happy after the final whistle. “It was mediocre. Next week against national champion Aalsmeer it should be much better”, said Fiege, who was disappointed by the many missed opportunities.

Fiege continues: “We don’t give up at Hurry-Up. We play at home three times of the upcoming five matches. Of course we also want to play for the final, but by losing a game by a point twice, we have it ourselves not made easy.”

Hurry-Up has three points after five games. Hurry-Up – Aalsmeer is on 7 May. The match starts at 20:00 and can be seen again on TV Drenthe.
