The Hurricane is one of the biggest festivals in Germany. Since 1997, the tranquil community of Scheeßel in Lower Saxony has been transformed into a musical stronghold. This year too: this weekend (16th to 18th June) the 25th Hurricane Festival will be held in the town of 13,000 people.

The first Hurricane was staged 26 years ago. INXS, Rammstein and Bad religion in front of around 20,000 concertgoers on stage. The Open Air am Eichenring has now reached a capacity of around 80,000 visitors.

Festival-goers can look forward to a varied line-up again this year. The Main Acts 2023 are Muse, Die Ärzte, Kraftklub, Placebo, Casper, Peter Fox, Queens of the Stone Age and Marteria. As always, the Hurricane takes place parallel to the Southside Festival in Baden-Württemberg.

Both day and weekend tickets for the Hurricane Festival are currently still available. The “Festival Pass” costs 249 euros. Day tickets for Friday, Saturday or Sunday are available for 119 euros each. For more information on cards, go to Promoter website.

The best way to get to the Hurricane Festival is by train. It is about three kilometers from the Scheeßel train station to the festival site. A shuttle bus will operate between the train station and the festival site.

There will also be a “Party Bus”. The festival’s own bus connection connects numerous cities in Germany with the festival in Scheeßel. The ticket price varies depending on the distance and starts at 45 euros. An overview of all connections, prices and booking options Is there … here.

Depending on the starting point, you can arrive by car or camper via the A1, A7 or A27. The federal highway 75 leads directly through the village of Scheeßel. From there, parking options near the festival site are signposted. You can park in paid daily parking spaces or free parking spaces. Parking and camping are separated from each other.

Weather

It’s going to be warm at the Open Air this year. On Friday it will remain dry with temperatures around 26 degrees. In the evening it cools down a bit and there is a light breeze. At night, the temperatures drop to almost 16 degrees.

Saturday might get a little wet. With a humidity of 45 percent, there is a medium chance of light rain. The temperature stays at an average of 25 degrees. In the evening it clears up again. From 10 p.m. the temperatures drop to around 20 degrees.

On Sunday it will be warm and dry again. With 14 hours of sunshine and an average of 27 degrees, festival visitors can enjoy the last day. Temperatures drop to 21 degrees at night.
