Iivo Nurmi from Jyväskylä couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw Kalle Rovanperä driving his Toyota Yaris into the car lane after him.
The world rally champions were celebrated in Jyväskylä on Thursday Kalle Rovanperää and Jonne Halttus.
The world champions offered an eye-candy to the thousand-strong audience by pulling up to the venue with the Toyota Yaris Rally1 car that brought the World Championship title.
After the event, the celebrated heroes of the event needed food.
Knocked into his order in the drive-thru of McDonalds Iiro Nurmi couldn’t believe his eyes when he noticed what kind of car was behind him.
Rovanperä politely queued for his turn in a car that attracted a lot of attention. Even though Jyväskylä is a rally host, you won’t see rally cars on Mäkkäri’s car line anyway.
– Kalle placed his order and continued his journey towards the Toyota garage, Nurmi reports.
The situation was quickly over. Rovanperä didn’t stay on the spot to chat or mumble.
– I don’t know what Kalle ordered, Nurmi laughs at the question.
Unfortunately, Nurmi didn’t make it to the actual folk festival. An encounter in the car lane of a fast food restaurant took away the frustration that arose from this.
– It did put a smile on my face. Good feeling, Nurmi described the experience.
