Hungary to host Moscow-Kiev peace talks

Hungary wants to host peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. The governments in Moscow and Kiev received an invitation. The offer is being looked at by both parties, Budapest reports.

Russia had initially proposed Minsk, the capital of Moscow ally Belarus. Ukraine preferred negotiations in the Polish capital Warsaw.

The Russians then said that Kiev had proposed to renege on the Russian offer for consultations on Saturday. A spokesman for Ukrainian President Zelensky later confirmed that the two countries are discussing a place and time for talks.
