Overcrowded asylum seekers’ center on Lampedusa braces itself for new flow of North Africans

ROME – More than 830 migrants arrived on the southern Italian island of Lampedusa on the southern Italian island of Lampedusa on Saturday mornings and Sunday mornings on 33 different boats. As a result, the situation has gotten completely out of hand. There are now a total of nearly 1,400 migrants in the asylum seekers’ center on Lampedusa, when there would actually be room for 350 people.
