An in-depth interview with Humberto Tan is of course not complete without discussing the demise of his TV child RTL Late Night. The ratings came under heavy pressure when his image as a family man shattered. He turned out to be secretly snacking outside the door with none other than the naughty Dionne Stax.

Janine Abbring asked the host about it during their Summer Guests evening yesterday, but she pretended she didn’t want to talk about it at all. “There was also talk at the time that those viewing figures would have fallen because of an affair,” she started cautiously.

NPO 2 was the third channel in the Netherlands with Zomergasten last night. 526 thousand people (16 percent market share) watched it. NPO 1 scored best thanks to De Avondetappe (1.1 million and 31 percent), Classics with Kleinsma (634 thousand and 18 percent) and Floortje Naar The End Of The World (563 thousand and 18 percent).
RTL 4 also stayed ahead of Zomergasten: One against 50 could count on 581 thousand viewers (18 percent). Prior to that, Beat the Champions attracted 412 thousand viewers (12 percent). Furthermore, NPO 3’s Reizen Waes: World Cities also scored well (499 thousand and 14 percent).
Viewing figures
Programs that did not make the top 15 include vtwonen (261 thousand), Editie NL (213 thousand), Het Beste Antwoord (208 thousand), Stegeman op de Bres (205 thousand) and Ivo op Zondag (164 thousand).
