Humberto on Zondag scores worse than canceled Saturday edition

Very strange: the Saturday edition of Humberto Tan has been taken off the tube due to low viewing figures, but fewer people watch the Sunday edition. Is it also in danger now?

Humberto Tan ends the weekend with mixed feelings. The presenter has finished the very last Saturday edition of his show. RTL 4 has decided to stop that edition because too few people watched. But shortly after that decision, competitor MolTalk came to an end and Humberto’s numbers shot up.

Saturday scores better

And now RTL Boulevard audience rating expert Joost Maiburg has calculated that Humberto has even scored better on Saturday than on Sunday over the past nine weeks. “Look and compare,” he writes on his analysis channel Look at ratings.

While Humberto on Saturday attracted an average of 638 thousand viewers, Humberto on Sunday attracted an average of 599 thousand people. “Remarkably, the canceled Saturday show scored slightly better than the Sunday variant. Especially the last four weeks, after the season of MolTalk was over, the numbers went up.”

Not back on the tube

Humberto told the talk show HLF8 last week that RTL 4 will not review its decision after this week. “They would rather do programs like De Verraders or Marieke Elsinga’s new show in that place.”

Expectations are now high for Marieke Elsinga, who will perform in Humberto Tan’s spot on Saturday with Alles is Muziek. TV expert Tina Nijkamp: “Will she achieve these scores? It will be a very exciting Sunday morning next week for both Marieke Elsinga and RTL4 channel management.”

Yesterday, 634 thousand people (16 percent) watched Humberto’s Sunday talk show.

Linda waves off

The big winner on Sunday evening prime time is again Linda de Mol. She attracted 1.6 million viewers (28 percent) with the last Miljoenenjacht of the season. Why it scores so well? “It is never repeated and only airs a maximum of 12 episodes per year, which makes it feel very exclusive and almost like an event,” says Tina.

The other most watched prime-time titles were SBS 6’s Wie van de Drie (963 thousand) and NPO 1’s Het Verhaal van Vlaanderen (934 thousand). RTL 4 attracted 580 thousand viewers (10 percent) with Beat the Champions, which means that Chantal Janzen fell out of the top 15. “Probably a lot higher next week when Miljoenenjacht is no longer there.”
