Hulkenberg puts pressure on the team

After the next disappointment in the race, Formula 1 driver Nico Hülkenberg called for a higher pace of development for his Haas team. “The engineers have a duty there,” said the 35-year-old after finishing 14th at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Hülkenberg referred to the recent successes of the McLaren team, which was behind Haas at the end of the field at the start of the season. After massive updates to the car, Brit Lando Norris recently finished second at Silverstone and Budapest.

“It’s brutally impressive, it’s making waves. It has to be our role model that something works,” said Hulkenberg on “Sky” about the significant progress at McLaren. On the other hand, the Rhinelander has often been able to convince with strong results in qualifying, but often fell far behind the points in the races.

“That’s how it is with us at the moment. We can’t do anything other than continue to work on the car and try to solve our problems,” said Haas team boss Günter Steiner. Others could increase their pace, but his team is not currently able to do so, the Italian admitted.
