Hugh Grant was really pissed off about the “Wonka” filming

Hugh Grant may have been an audience favorite for decades, but as an actor he doesn’t care much about being liked for his statements, especially during interviews.

Now there was once again a real sigh from the Brit, who was not stingy with sarcasm. In a press conference for “Wonka,” the spin-off musical about the cranky chocolatier Willy Wonka from the Roald Dahl books, Grant pulled the trigger.

The actor, who plays a (bizarre) Oompa Loompa in digital form, complained about the filming conditions for him. He nonchalantly and unchristianly compared the CGI camera equipment he had to wear for the film to a “crown of thorns.” But the rest was also a big nuisance for him.

“I made a big deal about it, I know,” Grant said in the press conference. “I couldn’t have hated the whole thing more.” When asked if it was at least worth the torture, he replied dryly: “Not really.”

Hugh Grant: “I just hate filmmaking”

The “Love Actually…” star later joked that there was nothing personal against “Wonka” and its director Paul King. “I just hate filmmaking a little bit, but I have a lot of kids and I need money.”

Most recently, Hugh Grant attracted attention at the Oscars for his generally perceived grumpy behavior. In an interview with Ashley Graham on the red carpet, he deliberately appeared completely disinterested and bluntly rejected the presenter’s questions. Apparently the 63-year-old had no problem giving the impression that he doesn’t care whether he’s at the Oscars or not. It has long been rumored that Grant is prone to outbursts of anger on film sets.
